Review Summary:

This is one of the well-known Chinese restaurants in Toronto which is why it’s often filled with loyal customers day to night.

Walking into Swatow in the middle of the night is like walking into some kind of night-owl clubhouse. A crowd of regulars shuffle in and out, greeting the staff with everything from secret handshakes, to 'high fives' and 'props' as I giggle just overhearing it all.

Looking at the menus, there's lots to choose from. One of their best recipes is the Fuk-kin Fried Rice. For those who don’t know what this food looks like, it’s a seafood and fried rice with a creamy sauce. For those who don’t what tastes like, Swatow restaurant is a good place to start.

They have Beef with vegetables on a bed of noodles. Noodles are a little lukewarm, but you’ll be tasting one of the best Chinese beef dishes. Their General Tao Chicken is one of the best General Tao dishes you can get on Spadina. It comes with both sweet and spicy peppers and is still crispy despite all the yummy sauce it's smothered in. Not the healthiest thing on the table, but most definitely the tastiest.

I’ve tried their Fuk-kin fried rice and they were GREAT! Me and my children loved it! Didn’t regret visiting Chinatown last night. It was definitely worth it!

Food is better then average but costs is also more then average. This place is very small with limited seating. Aside from that, they have no private lot so you have to find your own parking. It’s quite hard to rate it more than 3 stars.

I really hope they can improve the place to make it more cozy. Other than that, I love chinese food here. Me and my family go here every once a week. Love the noodles and their fried rice. Satisfying!

I pretty much enjoyed everything I ate but no wow either. With so much to choose from around the area it’s hard to rate this place more then a 3star.

There are waits during peak dinner hours so be prepared. Also no private lot so you have to find your own parking. I pretty much enjoyed everything I ate but no wow either. With so much to choose from around the area it’s hard to rate this place more then a 3star.

It’s a restaurant that will obviously not go anywhere anytime soon. 3 stars because it’s nothing amazing and the ambience is not that great
